Missed Turning Attempts

Post by Zasheir » Fri Oct 09, 2009 11:56 pm

I've noticed that if you try to turn something and miss (they leave the room, they get killed, or you mispell the name), it still uses up a turning attempt. This could be intentional, but I hope not as it can be pretty rough to lose most of your turning attempts from simply typing too quickly and making a mistake.

This can be recreated by checking the number of turning attempts you have left, then trying to turn something that's not there. For example...
>abilities
-----------------------------[Abilities]---------------------------------
turn undead 2/7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
>turn batman
They aren't here.
>abilities
-----------------------------[Abilities]---------------------------------
turn undead 1/7
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Similarly, trying to cast a spell on someone that isn't around will cause it to say "They aren't here." However, it will not use up the spell or components at all.

Put in bugzilla as a game suggestion, since this isn't really a bug.

Thanks!
