Recently an issue came up that needs to be identified so that players will not find themselves abusing code. If code prevents a particular action, do not purposely try to find ways to circumvent the games' intent. The example Although the situation described below refers to what happened recently, this policy is not limited to only this example.
When a ranger attempts to use the hide skill in an area other than the wilderness (e.g. city, underground) the ranger gets an echo - "You may only hide in the wilds." The hide skill is clearly not permitted by rangers in those situations. To then hide in the wilds and sneak into the non-wilderness area so that the "hide" affect stays in place goes against the intent of the code.
Continued abuse of this, or similar, code will result in the reduction of a player's appropriate skill to zero and a strike.
Rangers will notice that the sneak skill does not produce a similar echo when in non-wilderness areas. Therefore, using sneak in non-wilderness areas is acceptable.
