I also have to say it seems unnecessary. Generally when I want to make a big or different entrance with my character I string commands together before I enter the area.

In Example:

Code: Select all

Re: RE: Kismet cost for Reincarnate

I don't think newbies skip the praying option because they don't have a faith, I think it's because they don't realise they can pray to GODS instead of just one specific god. While I still feel that not having a faith deters players from praying (from personal and other's experience when we were ne...

That sounds like a good alternative to this idea. I think 5 - 10 min. is enough time. It will still force them to think over the options they may have, but in the end will not restrict them from going through with the decision. I am fairly sure most people know the consequences of this action, but I...

Although I am generally reluctant to agree with making more things cost kismet, this is one area where I think proven experience in the mud should come into play. I do not think it should cost hardly any kismet at all. I think the cost would be more another reenforcement that this is in fact a big d...

I guess I was under the impression that you could -not- cast offensive spells. The Time Stop could be a chance for the wizard to regain their composure if a priest were to dispel or silence them, or the off chance that their +stat spells wore off. If you did have the ability to cast offensive spells...

Although this is a good thing to consider when around a Paladin, I think it is forced role play and could ruin certain RPs. There are several evils that would not feel uncomfortable around Paladins. I think if this was set more as a suggestion post, that would be better. To suggest to evils that the...

For the most part I think this is a good idea. It adds a nice sense of RP that is not possible at the moment. When my mount has fled during a battle I almost always RP that I yell for him to get back here. It would be nice if he would actually have a chance of listening to me code wise. Problems I s...

Dargeth, you make some great points about role play and have even throught out counter arguments already (ie discussing the limitations for the mud). Although at first I was turnned off by this post being about rangers and all :) I realized that I too have experienced this problem. I think the real ...

Though I did hear, IC, that the your memory is not so fogged about the top level, but as you go farther down it becomes increasingly fogged. Is this true? That sounds to me like a possible excuse to give away potential quests that are closer to the top level. I can see why they would have said that...

I think that IC actions have to be balanced with the effect that it will have OOC as well, the game has to remain fun for all parties involved... Although I understand where you are coming from, I believe this should only be taken to a certain extent. I have had several times where I was mad...

Not so evil .. evils

I have always had it in my head that it is looked down upon by most for killing mounts, which are standing there doing nothing. I personally feel that killing mounts is an extreme cheap shot at someone. Rorix sees quie a few mounts around by themselves, but he would rather come up with something cle...

It all depends on timing. You could go quite a while, depending on your faith size, without seeing anyone from the faith you seek. It helps, if it is not against your characters possible secretive rp, to ask people if they know anyone who could help you out, to guide you in the faith. This could hel...

Well, the carrying problem can be solved quite easily. The carry weight when shapechanged could be reduced to just enough to cary say a few fish. Though now that I think about it, do you have the same carry weight as though you were your normal self? lateaz

Yes Glim, I do believe this was a post about weather at one point. I think we are going in circles or staying parallel with one another. If you all feel that this so call 'forced rp' is no good and that it takes away from the fantasy of the game, that is fine. I see your point, but I think things li...

Metals and probabilty of getting struck.

Increased probability if you're wearing metal?! What a wonderful idea! I can't believe I didn't even come close to unvailing that. In response to Rhelian I see how it maybe precived asforceful rp., yet I just think it makes people more aware of what is going on. I suppose that we are extra ordianry ...

Weather - How does it feel to be pelted by hail?

Weather. A thing that effects us in so many ways of life. It changes the clothing we wear, the things we do, and even our attitude at times. Though is this really present in FK? Sometimes I feel that it doesn't even occur to people. After discussing with someone about this I decided it was hopefully...

Interesting idea ... but plausible?

I do enjoy this idea as it would leave a lot of the tracking up to the player and could add interesting rp on the hunt, but it doesn't seem to work quite with the speed of this mud. If someone takes off running from you and you wish to track them effectivly as they are running off don't you think it...

I did not see it that way. So .. an evil priest would not be prevented in ICly (not by code) to learn from a good temple? There would be exepctions, such as maybe your temple and it's location. I suppose he could be disguised to obtain what he wished. Is that what you are saying? Then a paladin woul...

Though this does makes the balance of the game odd doesn't it? There are many spells to learn that are *only* trainned by mobs with good alignment. Unless of course it is already worked out for those purposes, then I can see not trainning for rp purposes working wonderfully. lateaz Rad Adam - the Ey...

nice skill ... with exceptions

I would like to know exactly how much druids and rangers *actually* stay out of cities. Also, are you talking heavy wilderness such as forest areas or in...
