Theres also the possibility that the bumps that holy symbols give could be converted to a unique bonus type. Say, holy, or something. One thats not used anywhere else, and thus stacks.

Fighters and their Issues

This reply actually stemmed from another thread, but since that thread really had little to do with fighters, I figured it'd be best to move it to its own thread. The conversation had moved on to how alot of the new changes seemed to be giving fighters the short end of the stick: while I tend to agr...

a) bracers/bracelets that are medium or heavy armor - if worn by a rogue or wizard, will they not affect AC but still contribute to hindering skills/spells that are affected by armor "heaviness"? I don't think these ever helped armor, at least not the items themselves. Enchantments do (an...

Componentes are quite more expensive in the "official" rules than in FK, for example; stone skin uses diamond dust valued in 250gp and a vial of holy water has a price of 25gp. Thats not entirely true. Certain spells have expensive components, but the vast majority of components have no c...

Detect magic does that (or, I assume it does, showing if there are enchantments in place). In d20, True Sight lets you see completely through a polymorph and see exactly who it is.

In a game like this, having True Sight be as powerful as it is in d20 would prolly be over-the-top. All I said is that that is how it is in d20.

Armor gives an armor bonus (same as armor, which means it doesn't stack with mundane armor), and shield gives a shield bonus (doesn't stack mundane shields). So yes, they stack with eachother.

That would be more up to you then anything. If you want to wait and join normally once he's in, then that likely wouldn't need any sort of app. If you want to play the char like he's waiting for Bane's return, and/or planning to assist in the event, that would.

Ironically, the spell we have that just sends a snapshot of the room your target is in (magic mirror, treated as the d20 scrying for levels), is the ONE spell where you should be able to both see and hear the person you're spying on. Then maybe we shouldn't be discussing whether or not these spells...

I'm not certain how relevant it is, but in d20 "luck" is a type of modifier, often used in spells and magic items to deliver bonuses to stats, skills, attacks, most anything. Taking that concept and adapting it to a stat would make for a pretty powerful stat, but in theory it could be done...

Going by the strict wording of d20, Arcane Eye is described as: You create an invisible magical sensor that sends you visual information. So, the d20 version would not give you the ability to hear through it. Clairvoyance on the other hand... Clairaudience/clairvoyance creates an invisible magical s...

I wasn't referring specifically to the items noted, at least not exclusively, but to address your specific point, while I agree that evils don't need to be adorned in skulls and human ears (none of mine would, for example), there are those that would be (and its not limited to Orcs; Cyricists come t...

Evil items at Aurora Realms?

Aurora Realms is a great site for unique items, but I've seen a distinct lack of items geared towards the less morally inclined of us. While I know people who have gotten items from the store geared towards evils, I've very rarely seen any, and never seen any of the various faith-specific items gear...

One of the things I liked in tabletop (remember I'm a good old 2nd ed. guy) was the list of professions from which you could choose your background. What were you before becoming an adventurer. You'd then have some VERY SMALL ability in that profession (because, of course, you abandonded that for a...

I was curious but if you where in another room and threw a dagger or shot a crossbow would you get a sneak attack then? In d20 (which of course says nothing for FK, but still), you can sneak attack with a ranged attack if you're within 30', so just from my perspective, I'd say that wouldn't transla...

Re: Reviewing organisations: Final recommendations

I think the listed plans work well going forward, so I only have one comment: Night Masks Demote to the status of a guild which would allow rogues to join to enable their 'thief' skills. This would require only minor modification of the area and open up more trainers and shopkeepers to the Thief cla...

Orgs in FK are likely best compared to clans on other games, and in clans, the the main benefit is community. Like-minded players who can assist eachother in training (be it leveling or finding trainers), grouping for difficult quests, things of that nature. Naturally, this aspect depends greatly on...
