Yes. Priests are allowed to use scrolls normally. They just aren't allowed to learn from them.

I disagree with this idea, and in part with what Selune has stated. Though people recalling can be disruptive to RP I find that it encourages MORE RP that it actually stops. Who cares if people look at you. I look at anyone who walks past - most times simply out of habit for if we do start RP, what...

I love this idea. Having people spontaneously appear in MS repeatedly is disruptive to RP and avoidable if we set a different recall room. True, it is supposed to be a big, bustling place full of people, but almost invariably when my mortals recall at least half the PC population of this "big, ...

Animal handling is currently disabled to allow PCs to train the skill before it gets switched on. After it is enabled the PCs who neglected to train the skill will be out of luck when it comes to ordering their pets.

Familiars?

I talk to my Siberian Husky all the time. I ask her opinion on things. If she sniffs something and turns away, I'll take it as a rejection. If she sniffs and licks it, that's approval. It doesn't mean that she understands what I showed her. It means that I love my dog and love interacting with her. ...

I beg to differ with Selune in that livestock do not have the personality that dogs and cats do. You are absolutely right, Mystra. I didn't mean to imply that they are less intelligent or have less of a "personality" than pets. Rather, I focused on traditional pets because of how we, as h...

Well, speaking from a strictly real life position, the question of animal intelligence (by the way, humans are animals) has long been and continues to be debated. Because animals cannot speak as humans do and because humans are an arrogant species that believe themselves to be "special" (w...

Monsters can no longer be ordered around because of abuse.

Summoned monsters do turn on the caster if the foe dies and the summoned monster still lives - at least they did the last time my mortal summoned one.

As a rule, only if an IMM is inside for a roleplay will NPCs loot. Some will pick things up off the ground, but I have not known any to loot corpses. Likely you just were not in exactly the place you thought you were.

Only primary spellcasters, i.e. wizards and priests, get meditate. It is unrealistic to expect those who simply "dabble" in spells to have the same ability to compose themselves and clear their minds for more spells as do those for whom spellcasting is their line of work or field of expert...

Yes, both deities are in the game. Corellon will not turn away elves wishing to follow, but experienced players are encouraged to follow other deities. Give it to a bard as something he "found"? Perhaps stress he thought it was worthy to be shared and hoped a bard would be able to share this unknown artist's work.

Yes, per game mechanics they can learn from scrolls. Per game rules, however, this is not allowed.

Learning from a scroll requires scribing it into a spellbook and priests do not use spellbooks.

We strongly discourage this to prevent someone from joining one guild just to get its benefits and then swapping to another, giving that player an unfair advantage (first guild skills or spells learned) over those who chose the second guild in the first place.

It's not a matter of counting because the prayer went through, but the cut off part simply won't be there. You can pray again to finish your prayer.

Regarding praying in general: For most situations, prayers should be roleplayed as the prayer board fills up rapidly.

Indeed it was said to leave them in the stable entry - for short errands. Leaving a horse in the stable entry was never meant to substitute for renting a stable (i.e. for extended time off socializing or adventuring). You never know when those stablemasters might decide they've had enough of free-lo...

While, on the whole, giving preference to the faith is a good idea, if you call a priest and later a priest of your faith logs in, you are not bound to go to your faith. In fact, it is very poor form to switch priests after keeping one waiting to raise you - particularly among aligned faiths. It is...
