Re: Great Cleave

Selveem, I'm done arguing with you.

I do know how great cleave works.

I don't need you to tell me how I will feel over its loss.

Isn't that what you're complaining about me doing on another thread?

Re: Great Cleave

It's in response to something in the bug reporting thread, and not appropriate for there.

Great Cleave

I can assure you that you won't. As someone who used to have Great Cleave, the chances to actually use it were REALLY limited due to mobs in FK having far more HP than in D&D, but weapon damage remaining the same. Unless, of course, you want to waste a feat just to be more efficient at killing rats...

Re: Improved Disarm

Fair, Alth. And thanks for cautioning cooler temperament without making it into an attack. Locked Gauntlets would be pretty easy, I think. They would merely add +10 to your opposed roll when on the receiving end of being disarmed. My only concern would be if there wasn't a sacrifice for using them (...

Re: Improved Disarm

Luckily we do not have to convince you. I am pretty sure the imms, and staff make the decisions on this. As for the need of grip and fifth attack, have you tried playing a fighter? Also I think you need to open your eyes and read a little bit more. I find this to be just as rude as anything I've sa...

Re: Improved Disarm

If you don't like it, try playing a class that requires effort. I like being lazy. I am the laziest of the lazies. Insinuating that playing a fighter takes no effort is a very large statement to make about a broad swath of our player base. I like to think that it's more than a lazy excuse to play a...

Re: Improved Disarm

Actually, that has to do with the way learning is coded. In fairness, Grip has a very very tiny chance to go up. As do most passive skills. The difference is, this is a 'triggered' passive skill. But, whatever. I'm not going to argue. This has nothing to do with thieves, or wizards, or clerics. Othe...

Re: [Skill/Command] Charge

In addition, if you happened to be mounted, and using a lance (as I've heard some people enjoy doing), you would do double damage on a charge. Though, conversely, I'd like to see a mechanic where a target with a spear or other weapons that can be 'set' against a charge would perhaps make a spot chec...

Re: Improved Disarm

First off, Selveem, I can tell you, for a fact, that greater weapon specialization is in the game. Maybe not for all weapons, but at the very least for greatswords. The only things I'm asking to be taken away from the game are things that are remnants of old code, that no longer match SRD. Grip, fro...

Re: [Skill/Command] Charge

I could see this being a fair addition being as with movement lag, a combatant oft enters the room of his foe only to have them walk out before combat initiates. Chasing in this game is /super/ tough. However, I'm not sure the addition ought to be very high priority. Being able to get away when you...

[Skill/Command] Charge

Just to show that I'm not completely heartless when it comes to fighters; And specifically, for fighters. -Maybe- paladins, especially mounted paladins, but maybe make that a separate thing. A 'charge' skill, a la http://www.d20srd.org/srd/combat/specialAttacks.htm#charge This would allow a PC to ch...

Re: Improved Disarm

I'd support the +4 disarm for fighters, I think its a good addition for npc confrontations and a fighter with the time and experience to have it would be even more essential to the group dynamic. I'd love to see counters to it made for pvp confrontations if any currently exist in srd. Thanks for su...

Re: [Item] Locked Gauntlet

I'd find it a reasonable application to an RMI bonus item, sure. With a few caveats. First: This armored gauntlet has small chains and braces that allow the wearer to attach a weapon to the gauntlet so that it cannot be dropped easily. It provides a +10 bonus on any roll made to keep from being disa...

Re: Improved Disarm

I like how you left out this line: Fighters have a -distinct- advantage in the FK environment, in that everything starts in melee range, and fighters are the melee powerhouse. And as far as healing spells on a Paladin? Cure serious is the best they get. Dollars to doughnuts says not even very many o...

Re: Improved Disarm

But grip and fifth attack can play very large roles in a single battle, where the gradual return of spells will not. You, as a fighter, get the advantage of gaining health much much faster than you would in SRD. That's the balance for spells. Healing After taking damage, you can recover hit points t...

Re: Improved Disarm

Actually yeah. I had thought to mention that but forgot. Thanks for bringing that up.

It's very important to point out though, that the +4 doesn't apply to counter disarms, only disarms you initiate.

Also, though, this is another justification for getting rid of Grip.
