Re: Faith withdraw

I'm with Thurgen on this one at heart, but I also understand the massive amount of time some people put into their RP's to groom new brothers and sisters in faith--hopping around can feel like a slap in the face of the IC and OOC effort. However, that is also a largely inconsistent experience depend...

Re: Mega thread: Rainy day simple fixes

Not sure if this counts as Rainy Day or not but it is pretty unimportant. Tailored outfit bought in Zhentil Keep You realise that you are not proficient in using leather armour, and will be clumsy while wearing a deep silk cowl. You wear a deep silk cowl about your waist. It says silk...so why code...

Re: Party of the Tenday

Wanted to chime in and say this was a very fun and entertaining outing. The mood and uncanny peacefulness of a Realms' wide villain shindig was hilarious, but also chilling at times. Definitely a unique event, and glad to have made it.

Re: General Questions

Do aligned weapons (and DR/alignment) currently exist in the game? I've been looking into DR since maining a rogue (as we rarely have the raw damage to break through them, especially vs. undead) and this one's had me curious.

Re: Improved Disarm

I believe it functions like 2nd-5th attack skills and/or backstab/circle: the skill itself determines if it happens, the roll determines if it succeeds. This is just an educated guess, though. On my rogue I do not currently have disarm trained and have never seen an auto/counter disarm fire, leading...

Re: Druids

Area based, buds. Adding new spells/skills and (potentially) adjusting their effects fall outside of area code, I believe. Adding trainers is another one I'll second, though I have a feeling some are more available than you'd think.

Re: Druids

3) shops with some seriously cool and effective animal companions and/or mounts While all of Vaemar's points were spectacular, I feel this one in particular would round out both rangers and druids. Currently there are not many worthy pets to take into battle, but this is one of their core mechanics...

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person

First I would like to say thanks for the test port findings. This echoes Raona's old report (that he never finished, despite being very thorough back then). I have assumed since collaboration on that report that the fourth echo is not a fort save but a partial damage resist or miss like orb. Second,...

Ignite Trainer -- Shadowdale

I might be missing someone, somewhere in this small town, but I don't believe there is an ignite trainer. As this is a starting town and for other, redaction-worthy reasons, I believe it would be appropriate to add ignite to the train list of one of the locals (perhaps a nearby temple cook who train...

Re: Elminster Open Discussion

I guess, ultimately, I interpreted that post differently than those across the aisle. Two ifs and a maybe do not calculate to "yes, it is broken, and yes, the community agrees" for me. Is this clarification that the spell is actually banned from the tournament?

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person

After further review of the spell's d20 counterpart and further testing, I do agree that damage should likely have the same consequence as the tabletop version--an additional single round of stun, then freedom. Fly, immunity to illusion should also negate it if it does not--my testing led me to beli...

Re: Illusionary Pit vs Mass Hold Person

Edited because my fury, while righteous, was not properly formatted.

A detailed opinion is likely to come, but for now, I will say that removing a tool from the wizard's kit that has highly accessible counters AND a save is down-right ridiculous.

Re: Crippling Strike

I'll gladly support a nerf to thieves when we get full-round sneak attacks on eligible rounds. Otherwise, touching this class because of an NPC concern (when the NPCs can have the feat turned off) is ridiculous.

Re: Making Wizard Specializations Unique

abuses in scribing and scroll teaching makes magic ridiculously easy to learn I'm not sure how you can abuse scribing or scroll teaching, or how it will reduce the grind to mastery. It has a succeed/fail chance, and works as it has worked forever. Besides that, where is the mission statement that s...

Re: What areas would you like to see?

Baldur's Gate with a robust adventurer's guild and a few quest areas attached. Definitely interested in the lair of a nearby lich. Myth Drannor is another favorite. Calimport, I feel, has a lot of outsourced mobs selling the items you'd find there--but the Aladdin-esque street adventures could be re...

Re: Casting Defensively

I've posted on this somewhere before, but I don't think it was titled "casting defensively." Your assessment that casting defensively has no drawbacks is fundamentally true; there are very, very few spells that take longer than one round to cast in combat, so you will likely never take damage "durin...

Re: Ferry Changes

Most boats (but not all) do allow mounts. If it's a taxi-like service (and they don't dismount you or preclude you, logically, from being mounted like the griffon rides) then mounting before engaging should work.
