1 - Your amulet is not a cellphone. If you search on the forums you'll find many discussions agreeing that an amulet is not meant for conversation, but for use of meeting up, or checking in.
Though the code is polite with just how much stamina an amulet uses, do not forget as the helpfile says:
This would affect your character, thus long conversations are generally not appropriate.Use of the
amulet requires the expenditure of some measure of concentration, and thus
stamina.
2 - Osay/Otell. Want to laugh at a joke? Want to ask a question? Excellent, that's perfect. However, a conversation that can range 10 mins to hours at a hit are not appropriate.
Via help osay:
Via help otell:The use of osay should be kept to a minimum as it distracts
from roleplay.
Before you ocommunicate - ask yourself - should I be asking another player about their quest ooc, or ic? Should I complain about a missing component ooc or ic? Should I justify my characters actions ooc or ic? Should I ever judge any other player/character for any reason in osay? Is my osay/otell more appropriate ic?Please remember the game is not a chat room
and excessive use of otell is frowned upon.
Please know, I wouldn't be posting if it wasn't two things: Mudwide and Excessive. Generally breaking these little rules now and again isn't a problem, but let's start calming down this rash of recent habit! :) Roleplay is much more fulfilling when not accompanied by long periods of ooc communications.
Thank you!
