A question popped up when this bug post was posted:
viewtopic.php?f=148&t=10414
The number of active characters that can craft platemail is limited and with apparent code confusion over classifying platemail, I was wondering just what are code accepted key words for crafting platemail and full plate with the construct commands.
"Syntax: construct armor <location> <material> [armortype] [size]"
Half, half plate, plate, plate mail, full, full plate?
The higher teirs of armoursmithing are not as straight forward as scalemail and shields, regarding key words. I'd laugh out of my chair if I could have made something already but haven't due to key word mix-up.

Re: Armour Types
I don't think I have a way to pull up a list of the possible arguments, but there's this list:
http://www.forgottenkingdoms.org/builders/olesson11.php
I tried the upper echelons of these, though, and got the following results:
Format: [construct command, what I obtained]
construct armor body steel full, metal full plate armour
construct armor body steel plate, metal half plate armour
construct armor body steel half, "You cannot make that armour."
construct armor body steel field, "You cannot make that armour." (Also field_plate, fieldplate, and all 'feild' variants)
construct armor body steel ring, metal ring mail armour
The Armor Type numbers don't agree with what is in the table I link above, though? Perhaps it is outdated?
I get these as possibilities:
1 (banded mail)
2 (brigandine)
3 (chain mail)
4 (half plate)
5 (full plate)
6 (hide)
7 (leather)
8 (padded)
9 (half plate)
10 (ring mail)
11 (scale mail)
12 (splint mail)
13 (studded leather)
14 (cloth)
15 (shield)
...and attempting to set type 16 seems to crash the testport! Thankfully nobody else there at the time.
There's work to do here, in some capacity...
Hope that helps with the root question, Nysan. I think the above are the possible types.

Re: Armour Types
Ahh, very much so. It difficult to get IC info on high end armorsmithing (small mystery there) and, as you seen, alot of the avaliable OOC material is a bit dated. Trial and error on live side only got my so far. Thank you for your help.

Re: Armour Types
Just out of curiosity, is this still up to date? Help Armor Type gives me the following:
Most are represented in your post here, but there are some differences (Padded armor existing in one, but not the other. Same with Light Mail Armor). Also, Light Mail Armor ... What is that in D&D terms? Is that the "Chain Shirt?" Helpfile does not specify like it does for Ringmail. For reference, Chain Shirt in D&D is 4 AC with 4 Max Dex Bonus, -2 Armor Check Penalty, and a 20% Arcane Spell Failure Chance. It also weighs 25 lbs.Help Armor Type wrote:Light:

Thank ya, sir. Do I need to update the help files?

You may want to add more detail to it if you do. Let me know if you work on it and have something you want me to look at.
