skill quests

I'd like to suggest:

Quests specifically designed in order to assist in raising skills

skill related tasks set in appropriate training areas, the reward being a small increase in skill.

Agreed! Anyone who has tried to raise their climbing skill knows just how tedious this can be.

How would this work practically? Is this something you can take a number of times, up to a particular skill level? Or only once?

This would work like current trade quests. If you already know fletching, for example, and you do the quest that teaches you 1 rank of fletching, successfully completing the quest will add 1 rank of fletching to your skill.

These quests, if implemented/designed/coded, should be limited to performing them once. Performing them again as a group, for example, should not increase your rank in it again. The idea behind this being that you already learned the "trick" to getting better at said skill. Performing that trick again and again won't/shouldn't give you an extra bonus.

I like this idea and think that in small doses, for skills that are otherwise super-difficult to increase and get better at, it would be a great addition to the current quests available in FK.

There are some little "easter egg" trainers available throughout the game already, but I have actually been in the process of two areas that include something like this now. That is a trainer in the sense with which you are familiar trades being taught, and an NPC available for practice of certain skills.
