Bards and Brass

Post by Orplar » Sun Feb 10, 2013 11:00 pm

Hey there,

I've noticed some neat brassy type horns around and was curious what 'era' FK is mostly set in? Any resources available on this? Thoughts, info:

Thanks in advance!

We're in the period after the Time of troubles and before the Cyrinishad in fr lore. In real world comparison, I'd call it the late medievil two early renaissance period. People know about firearms, but no one has ever encountered them outside of Lantan (smokpowder) and distant lands have been explored. Brass in instruments is quite commonplace.

I'm not certain we're before the Cyrinnishad. That book is what drove Cyric mad in the first place(and we play in a world that acknowledges that madness). I thought we were post Cyric and Mask's recovery from the affects of that book. Learning about the Cyrinnishad has been an important part of becoming a Cyricist for a long time as I understand it...

That makes sense. Probably then we're just before the return of Bane

In most aspects, as far as I can tell, we're in late 1371 DR - early 1372 DR. This being a game though, not everything is at that point in time.

EDIT: The events in "The Prince of Lies" took place around 1368 DR, so yes, we're after the Cyrinishad.
