Proactive RP

Post by Vibius » Fri Apr 05, 2013 6:49 pm

Hello all!

Sometimes I have wondered what -I- could do regardless race/class/faith not to only having some interesting RP but sometimes to involve others with them, not with the intention of obtaining anything else from them, just that they had a good time as well.

Any advice?

Thanks!.

There is an events forum just above this one. You could always think up something that would interest people and invite them out. Or you can post a message on the message boards in game and invite people to stuff. Or you could start a word of mouth campaign and get people involved in something. Or you could stand in the market and yell XD There are literally dozens of ways you can get people involved in RP. Just have to be creative and make it something others are interested in doing as well!
Good luck! :D

Some suggestions drawn from personal experience:

1) Ask for help (ICly)! This is tops - whether you are dead, struggling with a quest, or need something...ask for help, including from strangers. (If you are like me, you like it when this happens to you - just avoid "the usual suspects" that everyone turns to first for such help, they are usually overloaded.)
2) Look for new players who are struggling and offer them help (ICly) [For example - to the extent I have time to play her, Raona is constantly offering new players the map and news in Waterdeep, and getting to know them early so she can help if they die or are stuck on a hard quest.]
3) Set up events (as mentioned above)
4) Apply for the Story Council, so that you can create story arcs beyond those already coded into the game.
