I've been thinkin about this for a while now but only recently gained enough skill to navigate the Satanic fever dream of Belial that is a forum site...
Would it be possible for the NPCs in game whom it isn't really plausable that they'd hae armor worn, have their generic "steel light mail" made invisible to PCs?
I'm mostly talking about old crones and people such as that, though that might apply to most arcane spellcasters as well.
I personally feel it would increase my level of emersion a great deal.
Be assured, my goal here is to help make FK the kind of game where its SO gosh darn emersive that I forget to breathe rl.

My grandma kicks butt in platemail
I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!
Re: My grandma kicks butt in platemail
I would also love if something could be done with this. I mean, even the orphans at St. Jasper's are suited up in armor! lol

I hate to be 'that person' but I'd really much rather see efforts go to something more meaningful.
This game is very much about imagination, use that to imagine it's not there!
(This is my personal opinion - not the opinion of the Staff on the whole.)

Fair enough. I'm unaware of how much actual effort it would take to make an object / a generic object invis to PCs here. I know with a different engine that I built for in the past it would've required one line's addition into the base of that object to do but yeah.
Another option that directly involves no actual code changes would be to have a mention about it in the builder's area so when new areas are put in, orphans no longer lug around armor.
Respectfully, there are some things in a game that imagination is used for. I.e. bathroom breaks and bathing that doesn't actually happen but we assume chars that would, do these things.
But yeah, I suppose I'm asking / saying if something like this would need to be done manually or not. If so then fair enough, there are probably better things to be done in the mean time.

It's something that your current builders do in new areas, but was not always done in the past. (A switch from simple to unique mobile type.)
It's a little onerous to go back and change every instance, but we do update instances as we update older areas.
