Cosmetic change to priest memorisation

Post by Yemin » Sat Aug 22, 2015 9:06 pm

As in subject. If it would be easy could we shift the line
*studies and memorises a spell.
For priests and druids to something like:
*narrows his eyes and communes with his diety

Dunnol just throwing this out there to see how people feel. I've never picked up a 3.5 book before so I don't know the in universe way divine spells are handled. Are they still spells that priests have to study? All I know is that back in the day when I played I communed in prayer, didn't have to study anything but I know some gods like Oghma in FR and I-oon in greyhawk or however you spell it like their priests to study magic.
I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!

In most of the rule books clerics pray for their spells at certain times of the day. Pray and receive spells or something like that.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

Spelling is not necessarily correct :)

Cool then for priests:
*communes in prayer with his/her god.

For druids:
*communes in meditation with nature.

I realise that druids still serve gods but they aren't priests and deserve to be recognize as such in their own Katana wielding, non metal armor ways.

.......katana wielding?

In the next to last novel in the Sundering series called the reaver. One of the heads of the emerald enclave uses a katana to deadly and but kicking effect.

it was all katana and robes, dancing around atop a ship whilst dicing umberlants amidst a stormy sea battle involving a pirate horde vs the navy of some town on the sea of fallen stars. Wasn't bad at all.
