Not a very important thing and not one that concerns me particularly since I hardly ever use disarm, but the fact rangers miss this skill seems more an oversight than anything else.
So the proposal is to give to rangers as well the skill of disarming foes.
Disarm for rangers
Re: Disarm for rangers
...Rangers don't get disarm?
I'll throw in my agreement with this suggestion.

Re: Disarm for rangers
I'm getting suspicious, lack of both grip and disarm?
I wonder if the thinking was that rangers should have less fighter skills for some reason.
I don't know about 3.5 but in path finder, your most likely to find the ranger taking feats that support his fighting style. Its usually suboptimal to give them the improved combat maneuver feats. Whereas fighters are the ones who often take the improved disarm / trip / sunder so to me it makes sense that they wouldn't get the skills here.
Don't take this as an argument against though. Just informing of my experience in the past and how it would relate here.

I trained up double-edged bananas because the uber-plantain of doom I scored from the beehive quest was the best weapon in the game. Now it's being treated like a bug and they have gimped its damage! That's not fair! My character is ruined!
