Uthrand, a Direhar of the Foehammer, seeks participants in a brass knuckled brawler’s tourney. Come donate your blood or the teeth of your opponents to Tempus in glorious one on one unarmored fisticuffs. Earn his favor in preparation for the battles to come. No magic, armor, potions, trinkets, or killing. Just knuckles covered in brass and the roar of the crowd waiting for the knock out strike. First to lose consciousness loses the bout. Winner climbs the tourney ladder to glory. Take bets, drink, and jeer or cheer the participants.
Have you unresolved disputes, a nemesis, sibling rivalry, philosophical differences, or simply a friendly competition? Settle it here, and challenge them publicly on this parchment! The winners of each challenge, climb the tourney ladder, receive bragging rights, and learn that Tempus deemed them deserving of victory. Losers get to taste valor, evenmoreso in unfavorable parings.
Challengers will be paired first. The rest that wishes to participate will be assigned at random. Seek Uthrand and notify him of your willingness to participate; or better, publicly challenge someone here! State who you are, who they are, the relationship, and the reason. Let it be known, Uthrand personally extends an invitation to the church of Tymora and/or Waukeen to oversee the betting. Fight uniform will be a loin cloth and an additional chest covering for those that wish it.
-------
The prize and structure will scale with the size of the tourney:
A sparring session (3 or less participants) Everyone fights everyone in one-on-one bouts, each win earns 50 platinum tri-crowns. Each loss is a free ale.
A brawler’s tourney (4-6 participants) The tourney champion will receive copious amounts of bragging rights and 250 platinum tri-crowns.
A Grand Brawler’s Bout (7 or more participants) - The grand champion will receive fame, 500 platinum tri-crowns, full plate gauntlets enchanted with greater strength, and a church sponsored title.
The holder of the title can be challenged publicly at any time after the bout. A Tempurian must be present to oversee the challenge. The title holder must defend their title against any public challenge within a reasonable time frame or have the title stripped from them. If the challenger wins, the title is theirs! The new title holder must defend their claim in aforementioned way.
-------
Those who break the tourney rules, show cowardice in combat, conduct dishonorable tricks, injure noncombatants, or start fights within the crowd will have bounties placed on them and be hunted if they escape the arena alive.
If you feel a tingle on the back of your neck and the butterfly of battle in your belly, Tempus calls you. If the wind pushes you off your intended path towards battle, Tempus calls you. Watch the winds, and listen for the war drums in your chest. Valor is within us all, come and find it.
{This parchment is signed with a large fist print in red paint. Finger streaks of yellow paint mark through the fist print diagonally. Some of the paint has streaked downward towards the edge of the parchment.}
OOC: I would love to see the tourney be one large event. However, I am willing to oversee each bout to accommodate schedules. Each bout could be its own mini event with betting etc etc as schedules of the participants dictate. ‘Morpheus is fighting Neo!’ A good ole Friday night fights series sounds pretty great. Fair warning to rogues: Dirt kick, gouge, and poison use will be considered dishonorable. Brass knuckles should level the field for a lot folks, myself included. Time, date, location, and structure TBD based on interest shown.

Between the ringing of hammers in the hallowed halls a chant rises:
"Come brother ye sing with me. Ancient enemies, go cower, hide 'n flee! For dwarves be comin' fer ye!"

Re: Brass Brawler's Tourney
I, Uthrand, wolf tribe exile, a Direhar of the Foehammer, lich and duergar army general slayer challenge my battle companion Thorvald Thunderforge, a Sonnlinor of Moradin, the orcbane, and platinum miner in glorious fisticuffs; so that I may know him better.
Between the ringing of hammers in the hallowed halls a chant rises:
"Come brother ye sing with me. Ancient enemies, go cower, hide 'n flee! For dwarves be comin' fer ye!"

Re: Brass Brawler's Tourney
That's the spirit! We have 5 participants so far. Going to let this post linger a bit longer before I hammer out the details.
"This tourney is about placing yourself before the will of Tempus in the most vunlerable way, not about fighting well with brass knuckles."

Re: Brass Brawler's Tourney
I overestimated the amount of time I would have for being around recently. I am going to need to postpone this for now. For those that showed interest, thanks, and I will try to take another swing at this some other time. (pun definitely intended)
My apologies.
