Sorry if this has come up, as I searched for an answer through the boards.
When I identify things, it says, "Enchantment to decrease armor class," but feats like expertise say that they increase your armor class. I was wondering if the system is like 2E where AC is lower, or 3E where AC is higher, because although I can now identify things, I still don't know what it means.

In my experience, it is a case of semantics rather than two different effects.
An item enchanted to decrease your armour class will reduce your AC and make you harder to hit. This, I believe, is because the Mud follows 2nd edition rules.
Feats are 3rd edition and the way they work in FK Mud will thus be slightly different to elsewhere. Best way to think of it is to imagine that it has been written as 'improving your AC' rather than increasing.
Improving AC meaning that it is decreased in line with the general rule that a lower AC means you get hurt less
Hope that makes sense, but I'm sure someone will be able to correct me if I made it to complicated

Remember, should you encounter an angry Dragon and your only company is a Halfling...
...you do not need to run faster than the Dragon, only the halfling.
It's a wolverine, not a skunk... sheesh

Sounds right to me, Ursan
I don't have extensive knowledge of 3rd yet (*cry*), but as far as the old-school armor classes go, something I tend to think of, as a way to simplify the idea, is the grade system, where A is better than B, B is better than C, and so on. In the same sense, AC 1 is better than AC 2, and so on. As I said, I can't say much about the 3rd Edition feats and such, but I like the thought of replacing increase with 'improve' when you're looking at AC.
