Dwarves and Mithril Hall

Post by Bragbub » Fri Aug 29, 2003 10:44 pm

Races other than Dwarves are not allowed into Mithril Hall without permission. I am understanding that this goes for Dwarves who do not have Mithril Hall as their home town. Is this so?

On another topic; I noticed that some items that were once sold in Mithril Hall are no longer there. Is this because they were traded to those who are not Dwarven and do not call Mithril Hall their home?

Thank you. I was understanding that non-MH Dwarves could NOT go into MH ( which I thought was odd ) without permission as well, but I'm glad to hear that's not the case.

Mithril Hall

I was wondering if it were possible to change the entrance of Mithril Hall so that it was a changeable maze. I had been an area builder on the Mud that I played before here, and created an area that you would wander around forever unless you had the track skill. The maze was never the same pattern, I did this to prevent people from memorizing it so they could enter as their characters without track.

But I suggest making the room exits shift upon respawn (I think that's how often the code makes it shift??), and let the dwarves be able to see the path that isn't dangerous (ie. The correct way).

Any comments?

Some what to what I suggeste. But my post was removed for IC info. What I did suggest though was a random exit generated, as the correct one, after every move. Instead of a new pattern every tick, if that is what you ment by respawn. After an “X” amount of successful moves you will get to a room with the exit. If you miss just once you might risk a trap and also be made to start over again the sequence of seccessful attempts.

I would also add damage traps. With the last one, after you got below a certain hp level, dumping you outside. With damage based on PC's current level/HP so a Level 50/100% hp will get hurt more than a level 5/50% hp. So as to not die in the first trap and negate the possibility of having to retrieve a corpse in a trapped room with in the maze. Most likely the corpse of a newbie.
