Numbering rooms on your map

Post by Kregor » Sat May 14, 2005 8:09 pm

This is probably just a matter of preference, but:

Once a area map is laid out, and rooms are breing numbered. How do most do the numbering? Should it go in a top-bottom/left-right kind of fashion, or order your numbers along pathways, and then clump consecutive numbers in buildings and other places off of the pathways?

I can see where in a city layout, the first method would make the most sense, but in an area that has a central road and little side paths and buildings and such along the way, like Shadowdale, for example, would the latter method be an acceptable method?

That helps, yes. Numbering along the paths first helps me think linear on pasting in my descs in the template too. Falls into place much more nicely

Thanks :):)
