Syntax: charge <character>
This skill would allow a opponent mounted on horseback, with a lance or spear and proficient in the mounted polearms category to 'charge' a opponent doing much damage and temporarily stunning them.
This skill could only be used if the character has initiative and can only be done once during a battle, and that is to initiate it.
Also the lance or spear would have a chance of damaging, snapping or dropping (when charging)
Any comments, suggestions?
Charge skill
If you 'miss' on a charge, would you go flying past and not be able to turn around/attack for a round or two? Also, you wouldn't be able to charge on certain ground with a horse, like stony/hill/mountain...I could only see it on equivalents to that plains area in the map. Also, would this work somewhat differently with airborne pets (pegasi, griffons)?
Hmm, this seems close to trample to me. Which, basically allows you to bash on horseback.
I would much prefer if you are mounted and have a mounted polearm, that polearm does double damage, or even perhaps 1.5. I beleive this is already done in D&D. A lance while mounted does double damage. I beleive that would increase the effectiveness of lances and such while mounted. Bashing could pretty much be the equivalent of a charge here.

Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.
Gwain seems to display a look of complete horror for a second...

Spirited Charge Feat
====================
With this feat you are trained at making a devastating mounted charge. When
mounted this feat allows you to deal double damage with your melee weapon.
This feat requires a skill in the melee weapon you are wielding. It requires
a knowledge of the mount skill. It also requires the mounted combat feat.
We already have it, except that it deals double damage the ENTIRE battle. Weeee for mounted combat!

Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and go well with ketchup.
Well I was just thinking a way for a horseman to charge with speed and do a large amount of damage moreso than in combat and temporarily stun them, not do the same damage the whole time, but just once do a lot of damage, then return to regular melee.
In response to Hviti's posts:
If you miss on a charge then it's that simple you miss and the battle continues on regularly.
The terrain I think would be up to the PC to RP accordingly.

RE: Charge
I think the existing feats and skills in the game can simulate this without the need for an additional skill.
