"Boss" mobs: To fight_prog, or not?

Post by Kregor » Wed Jun 22, 2005 11:49 pm

Now that we have the new justice system, I know the need for fight progs in most cases on mobs is pretty moot, since they are now able to fight with an AI per their guild file, get help automatically, etc.

But what about obstacle mobs, the big bad guy that you have to kill, etc.

Does it make for a stronger opponent to leave fight_progs out, and let its code take over (Like letting wizards cast freely, letting fighters do their moves, etc). Since I am unsure when, if ever, I have been fighting a hi-level mob recently without fight_progs, I don't know if that alone makes an opponent challenging.

Using fight progs would mean building in disarms, bashes, kicks and etc. for fighters, or specific spells for mage mobs, so any missed attention to detail on those mobs means it will end up not being so tough.

Feedback? To prog, or not to prog?
