exa_prog and putting objects into chests efficiently

Post by Ellian » Mon Jul 11, 2005 10:10 pm

I have done quests in some of Dalvyn's areas where the reward chests are permanent fixtures but the rewards only appear in them when the quest reaches a certain point. It doesn't seem to be done with an exa_prog (because with exa_progs, I believe the examination shows nothing at first - then you have to give an echo that the PC spots something in the chest, so they'll examine it again to find the object that has been placed in there.)

What is the best way to do this?

Is there any other way to put items into a chest during a quest? Am I right in thinking that when a PC examines the chest in your example, it will first say a chest contains: Nothing, then load up the object and put it in?
