Zmud question

Post by Dugald » Tue Feb 07, 2006 7:51 pm

I went through zmud faqs on other sites before posting here, but wasn't able to find information on what I think I did.

I mentioned to someone ooc that I was reconnecting because the text was getting unaligned so often with zmud, and they mentioned vt100. I used typed that in, dinking around like I shouldn't have been, and now I've got it so that the top blue rectangle exists, but the health/magic/stamina/walk/exits line has disappeared.

It's not debilitating or anything, but sometimes I end up hopping around after a big fight since I don't see that when I use the 'score' command. I was just curious if anyone knows how to use the vt100 command to get that health/magic/stamina line back...but at the very bottom of the screen, instead of halfway up.

Also, I just quit playing a pay for play mudd - and I like this one much better. If the owners have a paypal account I'd love to contribute some monetary value for their time :)

This isn't a zmud problem.

You need to use the mud's vt100 command like so:
vt100 <number of lines between the top info and the bottom info>
When I am playing at work, I usually do vt100 20, and then slowly increase it until it fills my terminal screen.

Thanks

I know it wasn't a zmudd problem in the sense that zmudd was broken or malfuncting. Just that I was having problems using zmudd correctly :)

All fixed 'vt 45' put that little magical bar right near the very bottom for me.

If you have zMUD questions, feel free to ask via the question channel. A lot of us use it. :)

From the main site page, there is a link for Products. Buying things through there helps support the game. You can also click-through order books from Amazon advertised on the main page of the site.

I already have all the wotc books - can't I just give money? Or is there an issue with using copyrighted material to receive payment and I shouldn't be posting that here :)

I'll buy the issues again ;)

Also, the VT interface might not work with the latest versions. I stick to version 6.16 and have no problem with it.

As for the money issue, the game owners have expressed that they do not wish to take donations. This may change in the future, who knows, but the concept is that without donations, no one can claim that some players receive more help/benefit/goodies because they donated and others did not.

As for the Amazon link, you don't have to buy WOTC material only. If you buy anything from Amazon after connecting to them through the FK site, the game owners will benefit.
