Recent Changes to Stat Training

Post by Balek » Tue Apr 04, 2006 9:15 pm

As far as I know there hasn't been any announcement about this, but it seems like the majority of stat trainers in the game now do not train their respective stats as high as they used to. It looks like some more expensive trainers are able to train stats up to the levels that were previously available everywhere.

I am curious about the decision to move in this direction. Over the last several weeks I've seen various posts indicating that most skill trainers were recently changed so that they all train to a relatively similar level because when you have the odd trainer that can take skills up to a much higher level it inevitably favors those players who are 'in the know' as Dalvyn has said.

It seems strange, then, that we are moving in exactly the opposite direction for stats. Stat trainers are mostly training to a lower level, but single isolated mobs train higher for more money. Additionally, it's been said that new mobs will come in that train up to an even higher level, like 19 for intelligence and wisdom so that people who want to cast level 9 spells can do so without being one of those 'in the know' players who could previously get their stats above 18.

So which is it? Are we trying to level the playing field and make every mob trainer exactly the same, as is the case with skills, or are we trying to make them all rather poor trainers except for specific isolated mobs that train higher, which will likely benefit only those players who are 'in the know'?

I believe it was changed that the higher level stat trainers are in harder to get to places...

So the easy to get to ones were lowerd
