Spell list/replacement for mana command

Post by Hviti » Sun Apr 16, 2006 10:24 pm

With the new spell system, referral back to the spell list to find out what level spells are for the purposes of memorization has become somewhat unwieldy, since there are so many new spells (and I am grateful that there are so many, it's just that watching a client scroll through the 100ish spells to find the spell level for a spell is slightly unwieldy). Therefore, I would like to propose a new command, equivalent to the old "mana" command. It would give the spell level of a spell, and possible also the spell levels with metamagic feats (e.g. "mana fly" would return "level 4, still/silent/extend/enlarge 5, empower 6, etc.). If possible, the command could also show components, and maybe even free slots of each level (e.g. fly, a bright tropical bird feather, level 4 - 3 available, etc.). Alternatively, such a free spell slot command could be set under a different prompt - freeslots or something. IMO this would make spell memorization much easier, since it would eliminate much of the scrolling through long spell lists/memorize lists.

that sounds a bit compleated... how about something like "spell list 4" and it would show you a list of all the level 4 spells

and same for memorising "mem 4" would list all the spells you have memorised for level four spells...

typing spellbook "spellname" would show you the spell, it's components, and what free slots you could have it in if that is what you so wish

Or you could just do what I do and put it in a spread sheet and keep it handy when you need to reference the info. It comes in handy when you have to do a quick forget all intentionally or accidentally like I have a few times.

I thought about this... but I plat on SEVERAL different computers from MANY many locations... from work, to home on 3 of my computers... to at a friends house, to a PC cafe.
It would be hard to keep a spreadsheet on you wherever you go...

Good idea... but hard to keep with you while you play to glance at and look at.
