The older amongst you might remember the Ultima games, in which you could, for example, mix a "piece of wood" with "a piece of cloth" and "a flask of oil" to produce a torch; or where you could use "some flour" with "a flask of water" to produce a lump of dough, that you could then "cook" in an oven to get "a loaf of bread". If you had a rolling pin, you could flatten it, add apple slices, and cook it into an apple pie.
What I am looking for is similar processes that would transform one or more objects into other objects. They wouldn't give any special benefit, but would just produce echoes and hopefully add to the roleplay.
To make it easier, I would like the suggestions to follow this format:
For example:Object(s) required: (some objects will be junked, others will remain)
Keyword: (the keyword to trigger the action)
Echoes: (what is shown to the character, and to those in the same room)
Product: (the result of the action)
Objects required: flask of water (junked), bag of flour (junked)
Keyword: mix
Echoes: You pour some water on the flour and mix it into a lump of dough. $N mixes water with flour and obtains some dough.
Product: a lump of dough
Objects required: a lump of dough (junked), fire (not junked)
Keyword: cook
Echoes: You place a lump of dough near the fire. $N places a lump of dough near the fire. (after some time) The dough turns darker. (after some time) The bread is ready!
Product: a loaf of bread
Feel free to rewrite those two examples with better English and more interesting echoes, of course.
Thanks for the help.
Note: Just to make sure ... I am not looking into recipe for powerful objects (e.g., no sword + piece of adamantium + ettercap blood to produce +5 vorpal sword of killing-everything-that-moves-and-breathes), just for mundane transformation of objects.
