Mercantile Strike!

Post by Oghma » Tue Oct 31, 2006 4:39 pm

"Taken from the Waterdeep News"

Merchantry struck back today at various interests and announced what could become the largest single boycott in the history of the North. Every single merchant, shopkeeper and smith has gone on strike. Reasons behind the current strike remain unknown, but various sources and concerned citizens are investigating who or what could initiate such an event.

OOC: Currently no merchants in the realms will buy items from any pc

What of those in another realm who can't get any supply of food?

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this a very modern form of protest?

Hardly, revolting is one of the oldest forms of protest known to man. On the flip side of that coin though, the Forgotten Realms are considerably more modern than their medieval setting implies.

Cheesy, democratic thinking comes from a certain standard of living, the sort of thing that allows for an educated mass. Magic probably covers for technology in some of the more 'civilized' and 'fair' parts of the realm. I doubt that is this was Bane-era Zhentil Keep that anyone would protest...for long.

"Taken from the Waterdeep News"

News spreads that the strike is officially over, economies have rebounded somewhat, though certain merchants and their agents remain vigilant, just in case some decide to ruin the economy again.

OOC: Merchants will now buy from pc's.
