this has been bugging me for awhile, since the kingdoms is different than our world do they have the means to creat tin cans? I look at it this way, durning the napoleanonic wars, it was decided that too many soldiers were dieing from food poisoning so a method of jarring preservatives after intense pickling or boiling was established, the pressurized jars held the food well and carefully and were later replaced buy cans saughtered with lead.
I bring this up because I got into a big argument over the validity of cans in the realms, I just want to know if it is possivble for them to exist.
thanks
Can food be canned?
Sure its possible for them to exist. However, since factories aren't really a big thing in the realms, I seriously doubt they'd be common. I'd see them as more of a gnomish thing. I'd say the main thing is, cans are by nature disposable and wasteful. So the only people who are really going to use them en masse are those who don't really care about efficiency. Like armies, or gnomes. To your average Joe, canned food would be very wasteful when a jar can be reused indefinately, AND you can see what's in it and get a good idea what state its in. However, cans do have the advantage of being durable, as opposed to glass, which might give them an advantage in the adventuring circles.
A goblin, a trickster, a warrior? A nameless terrible thing, soaked in the blood of a billion galaxies. A most feared being in all the cosmos. Nothing could stop, hold, or reason with it. One day it would just drop out of the sky and tear down your world.
