[VT] Magic Display

Post by Tavik » Fri Mar 02, 2007 2:01 am

This has been bugging me since the new spell system went in and I've finally come up with an idea. The Mana counter on the bottom bar of the VT is no longer needed as mana is no longer used (correct me if I am wrong here). That being the case, I would make the suggestion that instead of retaining the mana percentage, change it to display how many spell slots you have total, how many are filled, and how many are ready and prepared. I have no idea if it is codeable, just thought I would throw it out there and see what others thought.

It already shows you what % of your spells are currently memorized so that you know about how many are prepared.

OH! I wasn't aware it had been modified to do that. I was under the impression the mana system was still there, it just wasn't used. Good to know. Thanks!

Spells and tells actually cast depending on your movement points now, but they usually only use an very very very small percentage so you never see it.
May you find the knowledge you seek. If you find something else, it is still knowledge, and as such, still a gain.

Hmmm I kind of agree that a X/Y form might perhaps make more sense? Or perhaps even X/Z/Y, with, in both cases,

X being the number of ready spell slots (green)
Z being the number of filled spell slots (ready or not)
Y being the total number of available spell slots

Obviously, Z would not be shown in the case of bards.

That might be unnecessary or too long though, I don't know.

I think it would be convenient, and would save from having to type mem a lot more :-)

I've haven't any idea what the code looks like for the VT. Is it even possible to do something like that?
