Since silence not only affects the character to whom has been directed the spell, also all the characters who are in a 20-ft radius from the affected character, Could be possible that all the melee attackers of a silenced character and all the characters that were attacked by a silenced character,
were silenced as well?

Silence is a pretty powerful spell. I know that's how it works, but think about if you're in a place like UM and one of the skeletons or something that is resistant/immune to physical attacks casts silence on your entire party..
It would be nice to have it work, but since all mobs are GM in spells they cast, I think it would be pretty harsh.

What exactly would change by "silencing" melee attacks?
