Anyone had problems with Vista and ZMud?

I can't even initiate a session. It just dies..

Have you contacted Zuggsoft about it?

I'm running Vista on my laptop too.

Try this, when you go to open the .exe, right click, and choose "Run as Administrator"

Still fails, i think it's the transparancy breaking it.. it goes on about non-focused and invisible windows...

Correct CMUD is Vista and XP safe, zmud is not, that is why Zuggsoft has canceled the updating of that program.

Weird, it works just fine on my Vista. I *do* have Vista Business ed. tho. Think that has something to do with it?

Probably not. I got Home Basic and the version of zmud downloadable from the FK site works just fine.
Glim asks Gwain 'Can I be on the watch?!?'
Gwain raises an eyebrow.

Hmm..maybe that would work. Back up all your FK files from ZMud, then re-download?

So, ah... I have CMud and I can't figure out how to keep long post attempts on my part from messing up my VT100-- the text box jumps up a line if I run out of space, and when it goes back down my health bar is missing and my window is in disarray... and I can't ferret out the option to keep that from happening, if there is one... so any suggestions to remedy my selective ineptitude would be most appreciated. :->

In order to solve that particular problem I have assigned the key '\' to a macro with the commands 'refresh' and 'look'

This can be a problem in some versions of zmud as well. Under View -> Preferences -> General -> Command Line there is a setting called Wordwrap Command Line. Uncheck that. Your command line should now scroll as you type instead of adding new lines. This exact setting might or might not exist in cmud, but at the very least something similar probably does.

My fix to the same problem has been to leave wordwrap on, but position the entry box about an inch below the main window - so that when it expands, no funny business. You CAN move it, but have to click and drag it in just the right spot (the grey border that surrounds it).

I am having trouble with the fact that the history of my commands is taking up over half my screen...So I am only getting a very limited play space. Is there any way to fix this?

Please try, in game, the command
VT100 50
and replace the 50 with other numbers (30-70) until the cutoff between your playscreen and command history is near the bottom of your screen, Moloch. That is, if I understand your quandary correctly!
