Pickling and Perserving

Who does'nt love nice pickled tomatoes? or cheese and figs? hog noses?
Frog legs? chicken feet and cow tongues? The art of pickling and preserving is a craft of love and care I've been rping a love of perservatives for some time but I know that there is some culinary skill in preserving things. Take a jar and find some brine or dillings and row apples or carrots in and boil voila!! You have preservatives! Nature's candy and the healthiest long lasting treat you can enjoy anywhere.
Just a thought... Besides without vegtables brine is just saltwater or a cheap substitute for whiskey.

An addition to the tanning trade. It will make meats and other perishable foods last the longest. using the same command structure but replace a skin with a food type. ie cook slice of “raw” meat and you get a slice of “cooked” meat, tan the cooked meat and you get a slice of “cured” meat. Where the raw meat will degrade as fast as a mobs corpse, the cooked will last a few RL weeks and the cured will last a few game years before disapearing. Same for fruits and veggies, they'll rot in a few weeks, game time, left alone but if you tan them they will last as long the cured meat. If any of these things are spell components, then they will last in you spell pouch much longer.

This would also make the trade a little bit more usefull and trainable.

I think it would make some great rp for ranger and druids and even followers of Malar to have ways of preserveing food. Plus I'd save a small fortune on jerky.
