Well it checks to see if you were in the position of fighting and you were (true) at which it performed a rescue. However you had already been rescued by looking at your log. So That is why the monster did couldn't rescue you (you weren't being dealt the damage) . However, should the animal still have joined you side based on a.i.? Probably. This traces back to the days when harper guards were aiding bandits and not LG warriors. That is, if your alignment was closer to the monster than that of the original attacking monster.
First, what is the benefit of this? Second, will this mean that other mobs in the future can benefit from this prog? Third, is it worth the change? And finally, is there anything easier if these changes are too difficult or not able to be recycled/applied to other mobs?

The benefit of an mpassist command is yes, it would aid players not directly taking damage and would be able to be used in other programs. I feel its a mp command we should have. The other option could be to force the group leader to invite the summoned monster using its mvnum and then force the summoned monster to accept, then it is forced to join the group that $n(you) are in. It might work, it would require testing to check. Over all an mpassist command would make its cleaner in programs and more able to be widely used.
