According to the WotC D&D Glossary, the coup de grace is as follows:
coup de grace
A full-round action that allows an attacker to attempt a killing blow against a helpless opponent. A coup de grace can be administered with a melee weapon, or with a bow or crossbow if the attacker is adjacent to the opponent. An attacker delivering a coup de grace automatically scores a critical hit, after which the defender must make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + damage dealt) or die. Rogues also gain their extra sneak attack damage for this attack. Delivering a coup de grace provokes attacks of opportunity from threatening foes. A coup de grace is not possible against a creature immune to critical hits.
Currently, if a monster is stunned we still have to roll attack rolls to hit it, resulting in a lot of missed attacks before someone finally hits it.
Would it be possible to modify this so that stunned targets become more susceptible to attacks, or to add a command for the coup de grace itself (with appropriate lag as a full round action)?
Madness does not always howl. Sometimes, it is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, "Hey, is there room in your head for one more?"

The SRD wrote:Stunned
A stunned creature drops everything held, can’t take actions, takes a -2 penalty to AC, and loses his Dexterity bonus to AC (if any).
Stunned creatures are not considered helpless, and therefore are not subject to a coup de grace.
A coup de grace can be performed against opponents that are sleeping, bound, or paralyzed. They need to be completely helpless. A stunned creature would be subject to sneak attacks, but not to coup de graces.
I've actually had a DM who allowed coup de graces on stunned opponents. Needless to say, my characters were very skilled with stunning attacks and always carried a pick on them. In FK, that means that bashing becomes a new favorite move.

Stunned in FK is the equivelent of being paralyzed. Try taking any actions while stunned in FK, I doubt you'll have much luck. Perhaps you can 'question' something.. That's probably pretty much it.

Close. It's an alternative rule, though, anyhow.
But it can be use as described above.

Coup de grace deals automatical critical hits when your foe has no option to escape/is stunned/sleeping/etc.
The double 20 roll is something else. If you roll a natural 20, you re-roll again to either confirm the critical hit or not. If you roll a twenty again, you have to roll a third time. If the third roll results in a 20 again, you kill your opponent, no matter what level he/she/it is or you are

This can be suggested into the thread for the combat system revisions. Of course, players would have to be understanding that what goes around, comes around. Ie, if it applies to mobiles, it will apply to the players as well, next time they are lying unconscious/held/paralyzed/slept and an aggressive mobile makes their next attack.

I prefer an old suggestion on a post I didn't take the time to seek out. There would be no coup de grace between mob and player, but in PvP there could be a "submit" command that would allow the victorious player a set amount of time (1 min real?) to either do the deed or not.
