Okay, you're a Hollywood producer and money is no option. Which Forgotten Realms book/trilogy would you produce as a movie and who would you cast in the lead roles?
I would want to film what WoTC has renamed the "Starlight and Shadows" trilogy - the three Elaine Cunningham books "Elfshadow," "Elfsong" and "Silver Shadows" from the Harpers series.
Cast:
Danilo Thann - Carey Elwes
Arilyn Moonblade - Milla Jovovich
Khelben "Blackstaff" Arunsun - Christopher Lee
Eliath Craulnober - Orlando Bloom (*cough* typecast... so sue me *grin*)
Kymil Nimesin - Tom Felton

Helm keep thee.
Two trilogies I suppose, however neither of them are finished.
first there's the Erevis Cale trilogy which only has "Twilight Falling" out so far..
Then I'd love to see a movie version of "Servant of the Shard" with a following up Trilogy of Jarlaxle and Artemis when R.A. Salvatore gets finishes his Hunter's blades trilogy. Luckily the man pumps books out so fast that I may only have a few years to wait for that.
as for casting for the Erevis Cale trilogy,
Erevis Cale - An alive, young, Gregory Peck
Drasek Riven - Christopher Walken
Jak Fleet - Dominic Monaghan
..Meh, hard to think up an entire cast when only the first book is out.

Movies and casting
Tough choice... I can't get past 2 of them... The Elminster series just to see if they could be true to the books, and all the special effects they'd need... and of course The Icewind Dale Trilogy.. I would like for all the actors to be newcomers, except for Drizzt... Wesley Snipes, of course!!!
What the Mind of a man can conceive, the Will of a man can achieve.
Probably my favorite book in F.R. Azure Bonds, I would love to see how the effects for Mist pan out, in particular
Alias- Jessica Alba, of the cancelled tv show, "Dark Angel"
Elminster- Christofer Lambert does a cameo
Dragonbait-The same guy that played Gollum in LOTR(he did spectacular voic-effects for him, also physical acting)
Finder Wyvernspur-Sean Connery

Christopher Lambert as Elminster???
Sean Connery would be great as Elminster, and I could so see Christopher Lee as Kelben.
Hmmm, since I will guiltily admit that I haven't actually read FR in forever, I'll say the Avatar Trilogy.
Cast:
Midnight: Famke Jansenn
Kelemvor: Sean Bean
Cyric: Hugh Jackman
Adon: Ewan McGregor
Bane: Christopher Lee
Mystra: Monica Belucci (For the few minutes before Helm rocks her world)
Torm: Viggo Mortensen

Drizzt Do'Urden: Phil LaMarr. He's got the passion needed to play Drizzt.
Bruenor Battlehammer: John-Rhys Davies. He did great in LOTR.
Wulfgar: Wrestler Triple H. Don't know his name. He's got the brawn.
Catti'brie: Actually, I think Julia Stiles could do this. Ref: Mona Lisa Smile
Regis: The guy who played Samwise.

Daughter of The Drow
Playing the part of Liriel Banre-Halle Berry
Gromph Banre-has to beLeonard Nemoy( the younger version, from the earlyStar-Trek movies)
Triel Banre-Melissa Gilbert(Just to see her do evil for a change )
Shakti Hunzrin=Melissa Joan Hart(from "Sebrina, the Teen-Age witch")

TV
Just letting everybody know that Fireworks Television is in the planning stages of a Forgotten Realms TV show. The show is to last one hour, and will contain various characters from the books.
If anybody finds out more, go ahead and post. Not to many people I can think of who will try and stop you.

Elminster: Ian McKellan
He says his one regret is that he took these powerful wizard roles far too late in life...he's now the most powerful wizard in LoTR, Harry Potter, and the most powerful mutant in X-men...I figure, he does FR, that'll cover most of the major fantasy novels in the genre and make his power unequalled through the lands...he'll be a living god!
muahahaHAHAHAHHA!
