Enhanced Weather
I was thinking that it would be interesting if the weather could have a more direct effect upon characters.
A simple example would be that if it's snowing or raining the characters would need to spend more movement points to move or spellcasters be forced to make concentration checks if casting when hailing.

I like that idea.
And although on the surface, it is very detrimental to casters (with concentration checks), it makes the 'control weather' spell more useful. So, I fully agree!

Sounds like a good idea - though I'm wondering if there would have to be certain exemptions? I'm thinking in particular Talos' Stormlords, but also Umberlants perhaps?

This page talks about Stormlords, but interestingly it notes the effects of bad weather under the class features heading. Might be useful if this idea is taken forward?

Hm, if that is taken into consideration, that would be really cool.. But Stormlords are a prestige and since FK doesn't have them, I don't know if it's likely. :/Laitaine wrote:Sounds like a good idea - though I'm wondering if there would have to be certain exemptions? I feel it is important to mention at this time that beneath all that armor Selveem has a very thick layer of rubber for when he's granted a flight spell? *ducks*Vibius wrote:Also flying no matter if with a mount or by magic means when the weather is really dangerous (blizzards and such) should be dangerous, that would encourage to not be so dependent of flying mounts/flying spells.

Impacting against the ground when flying should be more dangerous than slipping over a pile manure, also if flying and strong wind blows you might have a chance of moving to another tile but not the one you did choose.
ie: you type north and you fail the check, then you move to a random tile but north.

I should have clarified, the slipping had nothing to do with the flying. What you suggest is a good idea. I was applying the slipping % to walking on snow, especially the roads that can get iced over.Vibius wrote:Impacting against the ground when flying should be more dangerous than slipping over a pile manure, also if flying and strong wind blows you might have a chance of moving to another tile but not the one you did choose.

I couldn't see this in the world map though since each block is like 30 miles..unless its one big ole tornado.
But if you are flying and fall off..you take like 50% more damage. I think that gives lee way though for those who would fly really high or really low though.
But I like the idea's so far! >.>
I am but a tree te da lee lee
I think the percent should be really low anyhow.
First, it's very annoying when it happens often. I remember when the dung thing first came out. You couldn't walk past it without slipping! Almost never did you succeed in avoiding the poo.
Second, it's more humorous if it _isn't_ expected. I mean, imagine Gwain slipping. He'd break a hip!
