Well its been a few years, but I think it evolved into the current teaching system we have combined with the rp of apprenticing one's self to another player character.
Justice is not neccesarily honourable, it is a tolerable business, in essence you tolerate honour until it impedes justice, then you do what is right.

That's my take as well. The teacher/scholar feat system with the combined RP aspects used by teacher/student characters is how all our old teaching ideas came out. The current system seems to be working rather well, at least thats what I took from the few lessons and apprenticeships my characters have been involved in.
