Just a neat spell for RP that doesn't effect quite as much combat-wise as other aspects of the game from Book of Exalted Deeds.
Cleric 4, Paladin 4
Target, One Evil Creature, Will Negates
The target creature, which must be evil, is struck by pangs of conscience and remorse. The creature instantaneously takes Wisdom and Charisma damage according to the magnitude of its evil.
AKA In-Game terms, depending on how low the creature's alignment is, for the duration of this spell, their Wisdom and Charisma are lowered. The spell in game-terms has it so the lost abilities have to be regained normally, not when the spell's duration ends, but I figured just having the spell last long enough to effect the person would be enough in FK.
That's all!
Paxos
Sword of Conscience
Umm, are you suggesting this as a NPC affecting spell only, or all evil beings. Cause those two stats are rather useful to my evils, price of items for one, spells and mana for another. I would consider such a spell combative more than rp. Heck, I've seen people attacked over a simple spell like 'change sex'. Not saying such a spell should not be put in, just looking for a clear picture of your idea.

You do not need to change the world, merely leave it a little better than how you found it.

The Book of Exalted Deeds
The problem I have seen with the book is that it is grossly overpowered. Look at most of the abilities (spells, feats, etc.) in that book and compare it to the Book of Vile Darkness and you will see it is quite potent in comparison. While I do like the idea of new things being brought to the game, you might wish to consider game balance for a bit before posting ideas such as this. Evils in FK are quite underpowered. They have trouble going places because many 'guards' recognize them instantly and toss them out of places they need to go to get certain skills or spells, get cornered by 'goodies,' and ratted out by their people of their own alignment. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy goodies - mostly because it increases game population, but too much is sometimes a bitter taste.
I just don't like to see things one-sided.

Also..
In addition, do remember that those abilities listed in the Book of Exalted Deeds are NOT for simple do-gooders. They are for _heroes_. Characters of such high standing and purity. A priest may be pure and have high standing, but that is not necessarily the mettle the book requires. I mean, come on, if they opened the book to the game, who _wouldn't_ want to be an Aleux? (sp? I forget.)
Just my opinion.

I think one issue with the difference between good and evil Priests and power levels is that first off, a wider selection of spells in the game would improve both. To be balanced doesn't mean that there needs to be a spell exactly like this on both sides of the spectrum (heal/harm). Maybe a really darn good Evil spell on the opposite side of the spectrum to balance some of the good spells, or a few spells like this. Horrid Wilting, Power Word Kill, Summon Horde of Dretches, things like that.
Just some things more people should look into, because the more neat spell proposals like this there are, the more interesting and varied the game turns, and the easier it is to balance.
