Heya!
So I was reading the teacher and scholar help files the other day and I noticed at the end that it's possible to train these feats on characters that can make no use of them on account of having stats that are too low.
I'd like to suggest that we either make the required stats crystal clear (as opposed to placing them somewhere within a range like 'smart' or 'clever') or else we go the way we did with feats like linguist and expertise and make them impossible to train unless you've already met the requirements.

Hmm, interesting thought.
My teacher character can teach, but suffers from a low CHA, so he's lessons are a bit weaker. If altering the helpfiles will save future teachers from a similar fate, I'm all for it.

This potential fix is in discussion; I'm not sure why these feats were coded differently - likely because in their original design they were distributed by application rather than trainers. It would make sense to make them require the stats, yes? Anyone who wanted them could and should save up their feat points to get them until their stats were also where they needed to be, as with every other feat with stat prerequisites?

Yes, stat requirements on the trainers. We have other trainers, in game, that have stat requirements and they seem to work out fairly well. Don't see why it wouldn't help with teacher/scholar trainers.

I concur, and I think all involved did...so the next question is, does anyone know if this is area code, or hard code?
(When a builder sets up a mob to train a feat, do they code stat minimum checks on them by hand? Otherwise I'm guessing the hard code does it, and this is something for Bugzilla.)
