Adding Maglubiyet as a Diety
Adding Maglubiyet as a Diety
Alright so I understand we have a lot of deities in the game, but goblins are quite different from Orcs and I think a lot of goblins would benefit from having Maglubiyet as a coded deity. He has the Chaos domain and Destruction domain which I am sure the chaos domain could be replaced with Hatred domain on here. I am not sure how hard it is to add gods into the game but I just thought I'd shoot the suggestion out there.
The belief in a supernatural evil is not necessary;

I do have a goblin... well an ex human turned goblin... but do you have any links with more detailed information on the God? I just wanted to do some research to see if this God would fit my goblin priest... cause that could completely change the roleplay path I might take with her.

But my best advice is to take a look at the Player's Guide to Faerun book...
I'll try to copy the info from there when back home tonight

Yeah I already look at those links... they just weren't all that detailed on the actual faith, and relations and such... but no biggy... no worries on copying Brar I know you have your hands full right now. Speaking of which did she pop yet? lol

No worry, she'll be here next week normally.
I'll also take a look on old demihumas deity from 2nd ed which may have some more info on Maglu..
But it's surely not as devellop as PC deities unfortunatly

I think it'd be much better to allow Goblins to follow Maglubiyet while getting a renamed holy symbol of Gruumsh and for the two faiths to be officially allied. I.e. according to the code, you're a follower of Gruumsh, but in the game you can claim to be a follower of Maglubiyet, maybe have a separate goblin shaman taking up a Lazguoi position in the faith, two faith leaders might help the Orcs and monstrous races out a bit in terms of spurring RP, introduce some friendly competition between orcs and goblins, etc
Re: Adding Maglubiyet as a Diety
The fact that Gruumsh and Maglubiyet are enemies would probably cause some friction there though
I agree that Maglubiyet would be a good coded addition. Most goblins probably wouldn't serve anyone/thing else!

Interesting addition. More options are always good. Though I think my gobbie will stay where he is... when I get time to play him.
