Aurora's Farewell
Aurora's Farewell
You don't notice the little things, until they are gone. As the holiday of ghouls and goblins creeps up on us, it really stuck home that one of my favorite aspects of the game is gone.
Aurora's is closed and was recently removed from the streets of Waterdeep. As I sit here and think back on the costumes, custom spellbooks, action figures, and various other items I had the luck of buying from Aurora's I really wanted to take the time to say how thankful I was that I was a part of it... and all of the little touches our builders have done for us over the years, really.
Take the time to enjoy the small things, because life is a series of small things and you don't want to miss out on any of it.

Yeah, I'll really miss all the items my thief stole from there too..

Going to Aurora's was like going to Willy Wonka's. You never knew what sort of treat you were going to find. Each time they restocked, I was excited, even if I didn't buy anything. Just seeing some of the interesting ideas that passed through the shop was fun. I will miss this shop quite a bit. <3 Thank you to those who kept it up up until this time. You did amazing work.

Re: Aurora's Farewell
Just because Aurora's no longer exists doesn't mean there are not still unique items being put out there. :) Just more effort than going to a shop and seeing list and getting them all!
Beshaba potatoes.

True enough. Still, good memories. Aurora's well ends well
It was never really needed in my opinion. Unique items should be hard won and sought through earning and glory, there should not be a one stop shopping place for them. I like building areas that vary in location and variety of objects. More travel and more unique rewards. I also agree with Mele, it is much more sweeter to gain them through roleplay and adventure. That's better than one place to buy everything. Warehouse clubs and whatnot only serve to destroy everything that's specialty.

That being said... it can still be appreciated as a part of the game that once was, that people enjoyed. I for one completely loved the shop, as I'm sure many did. It will be missed.

Re: Aurora's Farewell
Did not realize the shop had such... negative feelings attached to it. Perhaps it is a good thing it closed then. Regardless, it has sparked many enjoyable memories for a number of folks and quite a few interesting RPs, some I have had the pleasure of being a part of. Positive outweighs the negative, in my eyes.

Did not mean to come across as such, just assessed it from my perspective and found it to be the case from how I interpreted the end result. It was nice, but too much trouble for what its worth. We are better off now.Nysan wrote:Did not realize the shop had such... negative feelings attached to it.
