I have an idea:
What about a team of people that go through and make enhancements/changes to existing areas in the game? They could add quests, revamp areas, add objects, etc.

My personal preference is new > changed - what about a team who combs through old areas to fix silly small mistakes? IE: The temple of Loviatar's mismatched enterances.
I'm really not fond of randomly finding things changed up, I know some other players who feel the same with it.
(This is opinion input, as I am not a builder admin!)

Beshaba potatoes.
Re: Enhancement Team
I agree that new > changed, but a small team like this could be effective in what they do. For instance, I have a tough time build a complete new area but I could easily make a couple fixes/changes/whatever to an area to enhance it.Mele wrote:My personal preference is new > changed - what about a team who combs through old areas to fix silly small mistakes? My intent is not to overhaul areas - I also do not like change. My focus is "adding" or "enhancing" or fixing. So, for instance, I wouldn't suggest completely overhauling Howling Peaks, instead I would go through and add another quest. We get a lot of item suggestions in the game suggestions forum; often times, the response is "if you want it, build it" which doesn't translate into a finished product often. Well, this team could go through and add these to the game, upon approval.
My purpose is that I know that I'm going to struggle to complete an area, but I'd still like to contribute. I know others are in a similar boat. I can't write descriptions at all, but I am very good at coding. So I'm trying to aim towards my strengths to possibly help FK in a new fashion.

Re: Enhancement Team
If this gets the green light, I'd help you out here.
As you've seen, I'm not able to be on much recently either (~14 hours/day taken up by work+commute).
If you need item/mob/room descriptions, you know how to get ahold of me.

Re: Enhancement Team
I'll just re-iterate the point you made yourself: if you want it, build it. Rather than talking about creating teams, talk about what actual changes you want to make, then make them: simples!

Re: Enhancement Team
Hoping I'm not overstepping my bounds: This is a green light, with the suggestion you don't need a team to do it, just lay out an outline of what area you want to tackle and your basic plan for it. If you want to invite others to help, do so. If the idea gets a green light from the builder admins, have at it. Your outline should probably explicitly state why you want to do this as opposed to build or complete a new area (as you have eloquently laid out here), since I think they too prefer new > enhanced...but enhanced > nothing!Mask wrote:I'll just re-iterate the point you made yourself: if you want it, build it.
