[SPELL] Overland Flight

Post by Enig » Mon Sep 07, 2009 7:24 pm

Having remembered the name of this spell from an Order of the Stick comic I looked it up and lo! It seems like it might be a cool addition for the MUD.

Here's a link to some information I found about it:

So it'd be a longer-lasting but slower version of 'fly' that wouldn't be open to wizards that are opposed to transmutation, and since the distance is personaly only it wouldn't really be cheaply bandied around to everyone near and far.

I'd love to see this make it into FK. It's the long-lasting travel spell that Fly used to be, but, for the reasons you pointed out, better balanced. :D

Would it be much slower, though? It's faster than the walk speed for most races, but Air Walk, despite just being walking in the air, moves at the same speed as Fly, right?

The duration would be much greater than that of Fly (1 hour/level as opposed to 1 min/level), putting it equal with the duration of Wind Walk (1 hour/level). Is that how Wind Walk works now?

And level 5, so it couldn't be persistent spelled. Perfect. ;)
