Spirited Charge
Spirited Charge
Just wondering if this was coded or not but should this feat cancel out if the target wields a proper polearm?

RE: Spirited Charge
If the opponent has a polearm or not isn't the issue. Question is, can that person SET the polearm to receive a charge. Maybe this is something that the coders can add to the TODO? Setting a polearm allows for massive damage against a charging opponent and I think it would help increase the variety of weapons that players would want to use.Spirited Charge Feat
====================
With this feat you are trained at making a devastating mounted charge. When
mounted this feat allows you to deal double damage with your melee weapon.
This feat requires a skill in the melee weapon you are wielding. It requires
a knowledge of the mount skill. It also requires the mounted combat feat.
It wouldn't detract from the mounted character's combat ability, but it would give the unmounted PC a one-shot chance to receive the charge and deal out a lot of damage either to the mount (common tactic of foot soldiers against cavalry) or the horseman.
Make SET a trainable skill that requires the polearms skill. A PC can then either SET MOUNT (to target the opponent's mount) or SET CHARACTER (to target the mounted PC) for a one-shot attempt at receiving the mounted charge for double damage.
Maybe even go so far as to create a CHARGE command that allows a player to make a charge (mounted or not as per 2nd Ed. PHB p. 128) with the appropriate bonuses and penalties?
Helm keep thee.
