Bless command and hidden characters

Recently I tried to bless a character that I believe was hidden. When I tried I got

There is no such player currently playing.

. The player was online and I was spelling their name correctly. I can understand not being able to do many things if a character is hidden but I do not think that a character can hide from his/her god when the blessing/damning time comes around. Can bless be fixed so that we can bless or damn hidden characters too?
