I would like to know if its possible to make an application to have a publication of music online. Such as in MP3 format. So people who can play instruments can make music on their computer and have them to show off online. This can be very RP oriented because I dont think you can hear midi's of people playing on an instrument. This can work with Art from elfwood for bards who paint, or along those lines.

I have a few of these MP3's ready but I dont have a website to put them up on just yet.

I used to love to listen to .wav files in chat rooms back in 94 and 95... by simply sending wavs to your friends, you could activate them in the chat room by just typing a symbol and then the file.. really added to RP. It would be a great idea if the bards could make files for people to download... don't know how hard it would be to add the sounds thingy to the mud.. I sure would like to have some sounds to put in my sounds folder of Zmud....I really liked the sword clanging and sheath drawing sounds and hawk sounds I got a long time ago for Gemstone III before you had to pay for it... <sighs>

Depending on the status of my dad's server, I MAY be able to host music files and have them on the FK site, but link to the server. If we did this we would have to limit the amount and size of the files.

How hard would it be to port the SWR code, that allows the client to play sound bites, to FK?

Thank you all for your posts, now if I may further my question. Seems there are people who have space on their websites, would you be willing to accept a file or two from me, or should I send it to publications to check it over and approve/disapprove of it? (its 500k Mp3, short but still big enough to be bulky for email)

Or in the future anyone who has MIDI or MP3 music to be judged, or submitted as a publication, where does it go or what can be done?
