divine powers based on faith level

I could be very wrong in this, but this is what I have heard, and what I have translated it into based on what I have heared. In my understanding a priest, or druid, has prayers given to them. The power of the prayers is based upon the connection between the priest and thier deity. Now, I was wondering what the chances or thoughts would be for a priests cure critical or whatever prayer you want, say bolt of glory even, to be given a bonus, have a greater chance at success based on thier faith level. Cause someone that is a prelate versus someone that is an initiate is definiantly more in tune with thier deity. But remember, I could be WAY off on this one, so ideas?

There is a general bonus to all faithed players dependent on favour, I'm not sure if it is still in play though. You get certain bonuses based on high favour levels or penalties based on lower ones.

I've heard the bit about favor levels as well. Faith levels don't really represent your connection to your deity anyway. That's your relationship to the church of your patron.
That being said, the priest in the Font of Knowledge still tells everyone that priests only get higher level spells at higher faith levels, which I'm pretty certain isn't true.

Well, there are some trainers that wont train you unless you are very high within your church. I know for a fact there are a few that wont train prelates. They tell them that they need to delve deeper into the mysteries of thier faiths. Though, an FM trained from the same trainer. Soooo, there is that bit

Been a few changes since I last dealt with the situation but... I got a "not favoured enough" type echo while trying to cast certain high level spells after supplication kicked my favour level to Ignored. So, favour impacts a character's prayer list, or at least used to. Dapher's example of rank restricted trainers also come to mind.

I agree with that as you can be in very high favor with your deity and don't care about the church, same on the contrary. (Take a look at the Cleric Quintet and see how far from Oghma was the high priest of the Edificant Library, yet he was still High priest, same for Elminster who never manage anything of Mystra's church, yet he was kinda high in her favor).
I can say that the same can be true in FK, as a devoted character should not involve having to take responsabilities in the church (because going higher rank is taking responsabilities). Some of my chars would gladly take it, some others would shun it even if it is their god himelf that demands it (for IC reasons of course), does it makes them less favored because they don't accept to take an active parts in the preaching? I don't think so, but it is my point of view.

It's been a long time I haven't posted...
There are two faith indicators in FK
- The faith ranking, which is more determined by your character involvment in the church activity / responsability. As well as for Brar, it does not really represent to me the liking the god(dess) has for your character. It is more about the social church activity.
I can see ICly limitations based on that ranking, but those limitations should be based on the church life / activity (like access to certain shops in the temple to ICly thank the character involvment in the church life)
- The faith level, which corresponds to the favor that the god(dess) has for your character.
I like the idea of having bonus - malus (whatever they are) depending on the faith level / favor (things that are related to the faith itself, like bonus on cleric spells or on mage spells for Mystran, or bonus on smithing for Moradin, ...)
BUT
when your character supplicates, (s)he looses all the favor of the God(dess). And well, it seems rather strange to me to fall from loved to ignored ICly and be limited after a supplication.
Maybe having an advanced system of bonus based on faith favor would require to change how the supplicate works?
(like needing max favor to supplicate but instead of having favor falling on supplicate, having a timer to limit supplicated during time)
Just my point,
