Call Mount

In it's current state, it is difficult to find it's use. Too often the call fails, leaving you without your mount for a long period of time. This encourages people to "giveleave" less with their mount and thus rarely having the chance to improve in call mount.
I suggest either 100% chance of recall, lower time for call mount to refresh, or increase the amount of times you can call in a day.
The ability is meant to be an advantage. In it's current iteration it is a significant liability. This ability is currently a free stable with a 10% (guessing) chance you won't be able to retrieve your mount and then have to wait hours real life for another chance to retrieve it.
Class abilities shouldn't be a pain in the rear.

How does it work in table top? Is it an ability that has a chance to fail or is it guaranteed all the time?

It's automatic, as long as you have a full round action. But, on the other hand, the logistics of that ability are different in PnP. In FK, the mount is permanent for any real purposes...it doesn't require to leave the prime material plane. In table top the mount may only be called for 2 hours per paladin level. So at level 12 you have the mount for the entire day. The rules on summoning the mount are similar with FK in that you may only do so once per day.
The problem with FK and PnP is the time requirement. In PnP if you need to wait, you just set up camp and you're done. You can wait for an entire month if you want. In FK, you're kinda hosed.
Not a huge deal. Just a suggestion to turn a very colorful and fun ability into an asset, instead of a deficit.

For example, I chose to "giveleave" my mount at the gates of a temple so I didn't have to leave it sitting outside. I did so at roughly 1650 zulu time, and failed twice now calling it. It won't be until roughly 2050 zulu that I'll be able to try again (if all times refreshing the ability remain constant).
This wouldn't be an issue if I could go buy a throw away horse. Because of the ability I've effectively loss any use of a mount at all, due to limited mount slots.

Not to mention that if you giveleave in a certain area that isn't wilderness you can only recall your mount in that area so you either have to wait there or walk somewhere else so you can go back later

A helpful staff member gave me a mulligan on my unlucky calling, and cleared up the call mount helpfile. Thanks for being sympathetic, and helpful.
*It does not matter where you are when you call mount. You do not have to be in same area as where you gave leave*

That is definitely a change from the prior operation of the ability, and a big boon to its utility!

I'm not really sure this is a bug
per se. It's not as though the command is working
incorrectly, but anyway, hopefully this is a fair place for this.
From what I can tell, the
giveleave command related to the call mount skill seems not to work when there are multiple bonded mounts in a room and the mount of the PC giving leave is not the first bonded mount present. For instance:
The Inner Yard at the Halls of Justice
The sky is cloudless and warm and a cool northern breeze blows.
Astraea, a mighty argent pegasus sits here.
Mairenn walks in from the west.
Ehrik, a glittering ki-rin flies in from the west.
Astraea, a mighty argent pegasus rises from his rest.
Ok.
Mairenn mounts Ehrik, a glittering ki-rin.
You Hmmmm out loud.
You say to Mairenn 'Wait here just a very quick moment? I think testing is in order.'
Ehrik, a glittering ki-rin sits and relaxes.
Mairenn nods.

Astraea, a mighty argent pegasus walks in from the east.

giveleave
Huh?
...but stepping out again and issuing
giveleave in an otherwise empty room worked fine.
I imagine
giveleave is actually an intercept prog on the mounts, rather than a proper game command, and if so, I can see how this comes up. It will make for some potentially tough situations, though, when a couple paladins are together and one needs to emergency give leave to save her mount from dying or the like.
It's not necessarily an immediate issue, but if eventually there is a way to improve how this works, I personally would feel much safer riding with other paladins around.
Thanks for reading.
