Hide and casting

Just an idea,
I wondered if hiding should not be dispelled by casting without silent spell active.

I think casting could be said to make sufficient noise to give up your position in a room, and it will make the silent spell useful for rp purpose.

Just an idea,

I agree that it sounds reasonable for hide to be canceled if one casts a spell, unless they are using the invisible spell.

Is that not how it already works? When I hide, then cast on an aggressive mob, I lose my hidden status before the spell is even finished. For example, if I try to hide and hit someone with entangle, they'll always get a round of attacks on me while I'm casting and disrupt the spell. For me, it has always been better to attack head-on since hide doesn't give you an advantage unless you've got backstab.

If anything, I think you should be able to get that first spell off unscathed as opposed to the super-initiative mobs beating the magic out of you.

To be fair I think it should depend on the location.

Inside a dungeon is one thing, but out in a forest is another. There are a lot of natural noises that would conceal the murmurs of a caster. Out in the forest there should be another hide check involved (with a penalty for sound). Maybe inside a dungeon none would be granted?
