You burn yourself burying a fire...

I'm curious.. What is the point of this echo?

I've made a LOT of fires and I've _never_ "burned myself" putting a camp fire out.

To me, it just encourages poor roleplay. Who wants to lose HP just to ensure they're properly roleplaying? When the mechanics of the game don't support proper roleplay, I think it just breeds poor roleplay.

As things are currently configured, this happens if you try to BURY a fire without a shovel or similar tool.

I don't know the logic behind that, but the burning is not unavoidable...and on non-arid terrains, it's not far off the mark. You can bury a fire in the desert without a shovel, but on midwestern topsoil in a forest...good luck!

Are you certain of this? I'm pretty sure Goreign has burned himself trying to put a fire out even with a shovel.

I don't recall ever burning myself if I use a shovel.

There was an issue with burning yourself while burying a fire when the first changes to the bury command came out about a year ago, it was corrected after one or two days.

Tested this and confirmed that you only burn yourself if you bury a fire without a shovel. You will not be burned if you have a shovel equipped.

Minor request...

Burying fire does not give a completion echo. Other dig actions give an echo like "you bury a bowl...", after the dig delay. Fire does not give any such echo. Something minor to toss on the back of the to-do pile.

Still don't think you need a shovel to stop a camp fire. I've done it hundreds of times (excluding once when I was a child and burned down the entire forest near the apartments we lived in).
